Oregon All-State Volleyball Player Sarah Roshak Tops on the court, and in the classroom
by Ryan Brooks on 4.6.2010
When it comes to accomplishments Sarah Roshak has it all together - on and off the volleyball court. The talented Roshak will enter her senior season (class of 2011) at Mountain View High School (Bend, OR) as one of the top returning players around the state.
The left-handed Roshak doubles up as a middle blocker and outside hitter for Mountain View, and her polished game has helped Mountain View excel in one of the strongest volleyball conferences around the Pacific Northwest.
As co-captain for the Cougars Roshak racked up 168 kills during the 2009 season and she was selected as the team's offensive player of the year. Besides her All-State honors Roshak also earned 1st Team All-Conference in 2009.
Mountain View Head Volleyball Coach, Mallory Larranaga, recently said that "I continue to be impressed with Sarah's work ethic and positive leadership. Sarah pushes herself and leads by example. She brings out the best in her teammates".
Off the court Roshak carries a fabulous 4.0 GPA in the classroom and she is a member of the National Honor Society. As a leader in school and her community, Sarah is involved in Club Hope, Alpha Cougars and assists freshmen as a Link Crew leader.
Sarah is an extremely humble young lady who has stated that " I am respectful of the game and very grateful for the support of my coaches, teachers and especially my parents."
As the recruiting process continues for Roshak college coaches who are recruiting her will be anxious to see how she does during her upcoming senior season. By all indications she's all set for a repeat of a fabulous junior year.
